SUTTON MINIOLYMPICS 2004
==============================================
Eleven of the twelve events are now completed. In the badminton last week, Big Mac team captains Yin and Maurizio showed that they are also mean badminton players, and won the final in style. Six teams competed at netball, which went well despite that for some men it was their first introduction to the game; the Therapeutics team won. On Thursday, the pH bar was packed for the Miniolympic quiz, which was won by six geniuses from BLB East. This week, Big Macs won the Pool on Tuesday, MUCRC the running (which was held in Oaks Park) on Wednesday, Eastenders the tennis (well done Mark and partner) and Therapeutics the snooker. For all other placings see the Miniolympic website, http://intra.icr.ac.uk/mini/results.htm
Overall, the Eastenders have now collected 100 points which gives them an unassailable lead; they will collect the historic Bedpan Trophy this evening. Congratulations to their efficient captains Nadia and Chris. Behind them come Therapeutics, Big Macs, MUCRC, Westsiders, Physics and Chemistry; the final placings depend on the tug-of-war, at about 6 p.m. this evening. Last year the event was rained off, but we have excellent weather this year. Come and cheer your team! If you're pulling, best bring some gloves..... the rope is rough on the fingers!
See you later....
